He earned degrees from UCSB and CSUDH. He has lived in Oregon, Texas and Mexico. For more than a decade he taught English and conducted international business in the Republic of China on Taiwan. He was a bilingual educator in Oxnard, California for 20 years. He speaks Spanish and Chinese. He currently resides in Ventura, CA., working on his fifth novel.

Ken Symington was born in Cuba of English and Cuban parentage, where he lived until he moved to the United States to attend college at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, where he graduated with a Chemical Engineering degree and went to do graduate work in other institutions. He worked for many years in several major American corporations as a corporate executive in national and international operations. After retirement, he owned and operated several small businesses. His credits include two books translated from Spanish into English and published in the USA. In 2003 he earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from Temple University and has spent much of his life employed in the service of children and families. Phil Farver has spent his coaching career of 39 years teaching and mentoring both boys and girls teams in football, basketball, golf, baseball, softball and a short stint with middle school volleyball. He played football, basketball and baseball at a small Bible college in Wisconsin. He has vast experience in working with young athletes helping them improve their skills, their lives and their teams. He says, “If I can help someone improve their life, then I have accomplished something.”

His experience in coaching and building programs and teams led him to author and publish a book in 2009 called, “FIVE SMOOTH STONES”, a book outlining steps for success that he implemented with his team. Now he has developed another book filled with devotionals and motivational speeches to help other coaches as they prepare to build their teams and impact the lives of their players. Jim Harvey is a professor of biblical studies at Williamson College in Franklin, Tennessee. Prior to his retirement he was the pastor of churches in Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, and Tennessee. He holds degrees from the University of Oklahoma, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Gateway Seminary. He and his wife, Val, have been married for over 60 years and have two children, two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Jim and Val have had a long career in writing books, Bible study curriculum, and magazine articles.
