A Random Act of Kindness

In ā€œA Random Act of Kindnessā€ a young man sees something he knows is not right, steps in, and makes a difference to someone he does not know and has never met before. That simple random act of kindness did make a difference. Mark Twain once said; ā€œThe two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.ā€ In this book Iā€™ve tried to show that difference and why it really is true. Life is all about choices we make. Some goodā€¦some not so good. Failure, however, is not an option. How we respond to circumstances beyond our control, in many cases, can be the difference between peace of mind or heart-wrenching agony. I would hope we call can come together and choose peace of mind.

Black Eden

Reverend Benjamin Thomas has finally obtained the post for which he has been praying for years; he and his son, Forrest, are now Pastor and Assistant Pastor of First St. Marks Missionary Baptist Church. They are given a choice of housing: the parsonage beside the church or a mansion that was donated to the church by a deceased member, as the new parsonage. Because of its dark past: the horrors of slavery; a reported murder/suicide of a past pastor and his wife; and the disappearance of another pastor and his family; they are warned against taking the mansion. Despite the warning, Benjamin chooses the mansion. Forrest discovers that there is major corruption going on in the church, and that the chairman of the Deacon Board, Gaston Burton Davisā€”who is also the cityā€™s mayor–is at the core of it all. He also discovers that his father is being used to further the corruption. Forrest, with the help of one of the mothers of the church, tries to save his father, and the church, from the negative forces that are working against First St. Marks. In the process, the practice of tithing is explored.

I’m No Different

The book tells the story of a sophisticated, sweet, judged, strong woman whose life has been an emotional rollercoaster through a toxic combination of relationships, sibling-mental abuse, death, being purposely impregnated and DESERTED, decision pressure, playing both roles of the mother and father, striving to survive while tumbling into fast money and the ex-rated film world and becoming a star.

The first part of the book introduces the readers in strategic details what it is like to be her and exactly who she is. Readers will understand why sheā€™s always smiling, wise and why she is so grateful to God. Readers will also have an understanding on why having struggles make you work on yourself.

As the story goes on, you will get chills!! Truth is, sheā€™s doing everything all alone and is still standing strong. She was in survival mode, while dealing with the world on her shoulders; but life and wisdom helped her escape the mentality of survival mode.

The end of the book focuses on the series of the wonderful things that she has become. Although she has been faced with multiple trials and tests, she has proven that she is dangerously strong, very smart, sexy and nothing to play with! So, judge her all you want!

The Most Feared Man In America

This biography of J. Edgar Hoover differs from all previous books on the subject. My book posits and documents the existence of two political myths about Hoover. One is a God myth, which was created intentionally by a long-standing FBI public relations campaign. The other myth is a Devil myth that emerged in reaction to the God myth. Both of these mythic perceptions are unidimensional stereotypical depictions of the man, which obscure the reality of the former FBI director. The author uses declassified FBI memoranda to shed light on the personality and professional performance of Mr. Hoover through examination of his marginalia. Hooverā€™s handwritten comments in the margins of FBI memos are candid and fascinating manifestations of his true self.

What Is In Your Hand?

What is in Your Hand? – Martha Kinney
Moses led the nation of Israel from slavery to their promised land with just a shepherdā€™s staff.
As common as it appeared, that staff contained hidden powers that accomplished great things, from defeating the greatest magicians of Egypt to bringing water from a rock. Like Moses, each of us possess powers we may not even recognize though they are within us. All we need to do is recognize what we have in our hand.

About the Author:

Martha resides in the mountain community of Lake Arrowhead with her husband of 45 years. After
raising four children they now enjoy their eleven grandchildren. From home educating to working with people around the world she has discovered peopleā€™s personal dreams are the same; regardless of country or culture.

Marthaā€™s goal in writing is to help people discover the abilities they already possess. She aims to make lifeā€™s universal laws easy to understand and apply in practical ways.

Book of Psalms Devotional (Volume 1)

Book of Psalms – Devotional THE PSALMS A very important part of the Bible. A FIVE FOLD DEVOTIONAL BOOK There are five things to keep in mind when we look at the Psalms. These are covered within the pages of this devotional. But before introducing that, let us see the importance of the book of Psalms in knowing more about our Lord. Look carefully at Luke 24:25-27 and verses 44-45. He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?” And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself. He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. Jesus used the Psalms many times in His teaching and life. They were much in His thinking. Here are some psalms concerning our Lord: David's greater Son 89 132 Incarnation of Son 8 40 Rejection of Christ 118 78:1-2 Betrayal of Christ 69 109 Death of Messiah & beyond 22 2 Victory over death 16 102 Messiah's marriage & ministry 45 110 Reign of glorious King 72 68 Paul also admonished the believers to make ready reference to the psalms: Ephesians 5:18-20 Colossians 3:16-17.

Bitter Inheritance

William Ellis Colby, Caucasian, is dead. He has willed his thriving multi-million dollar advertising agency to his daughter, Sonya Ellis Colby, and his personal assistant, Velma Hannah (the woman he planned to marry and who is African American), Claire Colby, William’s wife, unable to cope with her estranged husband’s death, commits suicide. Sonya vows to make Velma pay for what she has done to her (Sonya’s) family.

Sonya disappears, then returns home (after four years) with a vengeance. She assumes her position as second-in-command at the agency and manages to inveigle Vlema into her home where she drugs her and holds her captive. Callie Foster, a former maid of the Colby familyā€”who has been locked in the house for the four years. Sonya has been gone and who hates Sonya as much as Sonya does Velma Hannahā€”comes to Velmaā€™s aid. These three womenā€”and Bradley Morris, head of the Creative Department at the agency, and who is secretly in love with Velmaā€”make Bitter Inheritance a thrilling must-read.
